Employees at a Fort Worth, Texas McDonald’s are grateful this Thanksgiving season for a regular customer’s random act of kindness.
The customer, who asked to remain anonymous, began handing out $100 bills to the employees, much to their surprise and delight.
“You could tell it blessed their day,” said Lisa Davila. “They didn’t come in there [to work] thinking that was going to happen that day… and that was the best part about it.”
Davila did reveal the backstory behind the mystery man’s viral act of kindness. The man was recently diagnosed with cancer and, despite his misfortune, still had the empathy to console an upset woman in the restaurant.
Apparently in that moment, the mystery man decided he would spread joy to the McDonald’s employees, realizing the affect he had on the upset customer.
The video is nothing short of inspiring and a testament that we all have the power to make a positive impact—big and small—everyday.
So, this Thanksgiving, perhaps just being thankful isn’t enough. Maybe those who are fortunate this Thanksgiving can show that gratefulness with a simple act of random kindness.
